    COLLECT – bile or pancreatic duct brushings, biliary stent or fine needle aspirates of the pancreas

    SPECIMEN PREPARATION – place the specimen in fixative vial. specimen should be placed in fixative vial immediately after collection

    STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – ambient or frozen

    STABILITY ambient: 1 week; refrigerated: 1 week

    UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION – frozen specimen
