DESCRIPTION

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic condition causing bladder pressure, bladder pain and sometimes pelvic pain. The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe pain. The condition is a part of a spectrum of disease known as painful bladder syndrome

Symptoms –

Pain in pelvic region

Frequent urination

Discomfort while the bladder fills and relief

Pain during sex

Risk factors –

Common in women

Common during 30s

Having a chronic pain disorder

Pelvic exam

Urine test

Cystoscopy

Biopsy

Urine cytology

Potassium sensitivity test
