METHODOLOGY – next generation sequencing (NGS)

TURN AROUND TIME – 14-21 days

PATIENT PREPARATION –

COLLECT – fetal autopsy or products of conception

SPECIMEN PREPARATION –

FFPE fetal tissue – transport 10 slides each with 5 micro meter unstained sections

FFPE villi – transport one H&E stained slides

STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – room temperature or refrigerated

STABILITY – ambient: indefinitely; refrigerated: indefinitely

UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION – alternate fixative or heavy metal fixatives

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS – clinical history is mandatory
